ABOUT US
​​WHAT IS MASIA
​
​​The Malaysian Spinal Injuries Association (MASIA) is a non-profit, non-political national organisation for spinal injured individuals of all races from all walks of life, resident of Malaysia. MASIA is a self-help group for people with spinal cord injuries and their families. It is run by spinal injured people and their friends.

​AIMS & OBJECTIVES
- ​to act ​​as a central storehouse of advice, expertise and practical help for spinal injured persons to help them get back to a normal life as quickly as possible
- to provide an opportunity for spinal injured persons to share ideas and information at national, regional and international levels.​
- to provide a vehicle for mutual support and solidarity.
- to have a common purpose, that of promoting the rights of spinal injured persons to live as citizens in society.
- to act as a bridge between spinal injured persons and bodies such as hospitals, government departments, local authorities and employers encouraging statutory and voluntary improvements in access, mobility, education, housing, employment as well as social and recreational activities.
- to create publis awareness about the needs, aspirations and abilities of people with spinal injuries and to promote this awareness through lobbying the government, monitoring agencies, provoding services and publishing information leaflets.
- ​to raise, receive, administer and distribute such funds and goods in kind,as are entrusted to the Association
- to own land, buildings and other property, to employ persons and generally to do all things necessary for the furtherance of the aims and objectives of the Associations
